    • Hi Adam. Just had a read of your piece - many thanks again for your review of mine. I decided not to do a formal review with a rating here because, as Wayne said, there's a fundamental problem with the animals you have chosen. A mountain lion (a cougar) is a solitary beast and it is more likely that a pack of wolves would corner a lone animal. I'm not at all sure that cougars and wolves can be found anywhere near each other any more, either. Perhaps if you altered it to a cat and some kind of deer, it would work better? I'm afraid the ending didn't work well for me because you have suddenly anthropomorphized the lions, which is at odds with the way the rest of the story is written. Sadly, most predators wouldn't display any consideration for the father but would regard the baby as an unexpected bonus snack!! It has to be one thing or the other, really, to be convincing. I hope this helps and will gladly read a rewrite if you give me a shout.
