Got to meet Tim Bevan (Four Weddings producer) with my first film treatment. Had a 35mm short toured internationally by the British Council, been commissioned to develop film projects by production companies and directors, and scripted episodes of Doctors for the BBC.
Selected to get UKFC training in delivering screenwriting classes, ran them in Nottingham. Consulted on short film projects etc as a script doctor: people who spent an hour 1:1 with me on one project tripled their chances of being shortlisted to make a film.
Check out www.writebyyourside.net to find out more about me as a script doctor, and buy a digital anthology of around 200 articles and reviews, plus a whole bunch of treatments and scripts to inform and inspire.
Main focus is on a multi-platform project for children and families that can be realised as animation, games, comics and more, which has received support from a foreign investor.
“Writer Adrian Reynolds is known to some as ‘The Oracle’— put a script in front of him and you will see why: his knowledge and insight about the craft is second to none.”— Britfilms.tv, July 2009.
“I have used Adrian’s script doctoring services on a number of occasions and found his input to be invaluable. His technical skill, coupled with a real understanding of what makes a story sing, have always helped me to move my writing forward. I would highly recommend him.” YA novelist Caroline Green, whose acclaimed Dark Ride is to be followed by a second book in 2012.
“By the time the (Red Planet 2008) deadline loomed, it was ready for a good kicking courtesy of Adrian Reynolds. To be fair, Adrian offered up more in the way of what he terms ‘coaching’ than a strict reader’s report which again, suited me just fine. A couple of Adrian’s suggestions really resonated, and I’ve used his sage words as fuel to inform a second draft, essentially a page one rewrite…the script report was excellent, as it happens.” Screenwriter Chip Smith.
