I have been writing poetry for quite some time and I have always been “an aspiring writer” but recently the genetic eye disease that I was born with deteriorated thus resulting in me losing quite a lot of my vision. However I was determined to use this as a “warning” – the ability to write comes from within so therefore the fact that writing is more difficult when you can’t read standard size print etc. was not going to stop me. In fact I am thankful for the shock that in turn sparked something off inside me and has left me with a desire to write stronger than ever. I just view it as a challenge. I mainly write for children but I try to involve adults in my writing too and I also like to write poetry, short stories and song lyrics. My current project is a pantomime for my son’s primary school which I am really enjoying.
