The mystical way of the gypsies crosses paths with the gajes. Tradition, prejudice and deep love come together in this teen romance.
Laurie Piper is a gypsy and a teenager. Growing up she has taken care to follow the gypsy way and honour its age old traditions. Tom Cavanagh is the gaje (non-traveller) son of publishing tycoon, Max Cavanagh. Both families believe in traditions. Both families hold prejudices. Laurie meets Tom and they fall in love against a backdrop of gypsy myth and the power of money and status. Jealousy rears its ugly head as Jonas, Laurie's best friend, discovers the forbidden friendship. He warns Laurie of the outcast she will become if she stays involved with Tom. Tom's father is also against such a relationship fearing it will bring shame and scandal upon his family. Laurie and Tom fight to save their love as boundaries are broken, traditions tested and love wins over.
