My name is Aubrey Bemis. I am a 23-year-old in search of direction. I'm a writer in the sense that I write things and that sometimes the things I write are published. I earned my bachelor's degree in English with a minor in creative writing from Washington College, and I hold a master's degree in Humanities and Social Thought from NYU. Everyone asks me what one does with a master's degree in Humanities and Social Thought. If I knew that, I'd be doing it.
I move a lot, accompanied by Isador-the-traveling-cat. For the moment, I'm living with my parents in upstate New York, and yes, I do feel lame. When I say I'm "living" there, I mean that all of my stuff is stored in their basement, and I'm sleeping on their futon. Well, "Life in a box is better than no life at all," right? That's Tom Stoppard, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. But it won't be long before I've moved on: another job, another apartment. That's just how it works for me right now.
