Our documentary, "His Name is Bob," received distribution on The Documentary Channel. We are also slated to be on iTunes.
A writer of all mediums, from advertising to advertorials, I've been doing this writing thing for a long time. But it seems I can't not do it, double negative intentional. I have had a play workshopped at the Tamarind Theater in Old Hollywood. Written a comedy sketch that was performed by Melanie Hutsell, an SNL alum, at Sit 'N Spin at the HBO Workspace, also in LA. I've co-directed a documentary film, "His Name is Bob," that was screened in 8 film festivals from New Jersey to Northern California, which absorbed half of my retirement money. We are still hoping to sell it. Finally, I've done all of this while enduring a career as an ad copywriter that started on Madison Avenue in 1983. So, while I am "writing around," as it were, my true love is fiction.

    • Hi, hope all’s well. Just to let you know my novel, ‘The Broken Boots Guide to Astlavonia’ has just been published. It’s a black comedy about a debt-ridden divorcee who is sent to Astlavonia, a former soviet state, to write its first ever guidebook but discovers all disputes are settled with a knife. If you’d like to read the first chapter and find out more, please visit www.nathanbraund.com. Please help an unknown writer by telling your friends. Thanks very much. Nathan astlavonia@yahoo.com

    • Hi there, Thank you for thinking of me. Well, the critique is mainly for your benefit, to improve the calibre of your potential submission. If it is already of a certain standard, I can recommend it to the gold list on Circalit, who will then mobalise their connections on your behalf. Alternatively, once you feel the work is ready, the best way it to submit it to an agent (assuming you are wanting a traditional medium, i.e. a book published) who will then sell it to a publisher on you behalf, if they chose to represent you. Anna Jean Hughes (another professional editor on the site) has written a good advice crib sheet on submitting work, in the advice section of the site. It is a fairly robust process, as i am sure you know. Further to this, i will say that you want to have a cracking first five pages, followed by a strong further forty pages to submit, and I will be happy to help you achieve this. Hope this answers your question and good luck!

    • I saved it both as a .doc and jpeg, but I honestly don't remember which is here. I had such trouble uploading it that I kept clicking on one and then the other until one loaded. But I will take your advice and try to save it as RTF. Thanks! How many hours ahead are you?
