- Hi dinnadoit, Hope all’s well. My short story ‘My Morbid Wife’ has been shortlisted for Circalit’s Autumn Short Story Anthology. However, this doesn’t mean it will get in. You very kindly wrote positive things about ‘The Old Astronaut’. Would it be okay to have a quick look at the story (photo of open mouth) and then go to the very bottom of any Circalit page to ‘About us’, click on ‘news’, scroll down to ‘June 18 2012, Anthology shortlist’ and click on ‘here’ in the sentence ‘Any comments and feedback are welcome here.’ and leave a short sentence about ‘My Morbid wife’? - Hi dinnadoit. Nothing wrong with citing Mum as an influence. As one myself, I approve! But, as you say, you should be getting your own stuff written and uploaded. Go easy on the 'displacement activity' - (That's advice from a mother as well as a writer.) Best, virginia
