I am a novice writer. I support my development by nursing. I want to write stories that matter and that can change people, but do it thorugh entertainment. Live in Lancashire - but travel to Cambridge frequently.
My entry for the Sci-Fi Short Story Competition is now complete. Wish me luck.
It is available here: http://www.circalit.com/michaelvank/projects/project_1330810783/
Please take the time to write me a review, as this forms part of the competition criteria, thanks.
My dream princess is to find some writers who live near me and start meeting up, you know becomming friendly and looking at each others work. How do you go about contacting people for that, or do you only do it at workshops?
Hi - The Screenwriters Festival is in London - they have a web site just google London Screenwrtiers Festival 2011 cost around £260ell worth the money loads of workshops etc and good speakers, runs over a 2 or 3 day weekend - full on days. The Script Factory had a forum in London at BAFTA in June - that was very good. The Arvon Foundation run courses for writers - they seem very expensive but the foundation are very good at giving grants - it is well worth looking at the web site - Google Arvon Foundation. The Arvon course are residentail courses from Monday to Saturday - fantastic tutors - the week is hard work but well worth the effort. Er I'll have another think and see if I can recall any more meetings.
I've never been to any meets, where are they and what happens? At the mo I have a screenplay I sent off to the scriptfactory to be looked at, I'll post it on here when they send it back.
