Heartbeat: A Short Film

It is speech time at the wedding reception of John and Saffron. Friends and family have gathered to wish the couple well on this new chapter in their lives. Enter Chad, all round charmer and Saffron's childhood friend. He has Saffron and her mother wrapped round his finger. John immediately suspects something has gone on between them in the past. Months go by after the wedding and John and Saffron are in wedded bliss. Chad all of a sudden starts calling the house and dropping by to see Saffron when he isn't around. John, in a crime of passion murders Saffron and carves out her heart. He forges a note from Saffron that says she's run off with Chad. Years go by, and John is an unhappy man. Why? He misses Saffron and regrets what he did. Haunted by the constant sound of her heartbeat, he throws himself into a lake.
