I know an autistic boy, oddly he too was brilliant at maths. He used to come and play with my son at our house. His poor mum was desparate for James, that was his name, to have a friend and my son who is also called James fitted the bill because he too is very good at maths, though miles behind the autistic James. I'd watch as he played engrossed with numbers and I'd wonder what was going on in his head. I really couldn't imagine how he percieved the world. You have given me an insight into what was going on in that little boys head. How you got in there I don't know, but in there you got, and you have produced a beautiful piece of observastional writing. You fully deserve to take this months best story prize.
