Great original stuff. So succinctly and clearly written too! Has anyone thought of this idea before? As for me, this story is akin to a Mozart sonata - it always existed and was just waiting to be plucked from the air. I hope you go very well with this one. If not here, then surely somewhere else. Love the greyness of this world - no rights, no wrongs - and your characterisation - e.g. how no one can remember Zach from before. It would be so intriguing to watch this story played out with fledging adults. Great gruesome title - dead flesh, lust and flinty authority rolled up into one. But what happens to the handful of teachers dumped in the woods? And the title is a bit misleading. Perhaps "making it through a day AT school instead" as it's hardly about surviving a regular school day at all.
