All writing is good experience and a way to learn the craft. I write novels too and although I've read lots of scripts over the years, I'd never written one until very recently. My first attempt at a script was for Circalit's Thriller comp.
Congrats on your scriptfrenzy script. I'm guessing it's like Nanowrimo - write a novel in a month - kinda thing. Good luck in the comp.
Hi : I'm not in the film industry, but I've some experience shooting and editing, for small projects. I work in the web design / programming world; breaking out into something more literary and rewarding would be nice.
Hence scriptwriting...
I've been working up to a feature by writing shorts. I figure shorts is good experience and quicker to turn around. Finally, thanks to the arbitary deadline of scriptfrenzy, I finished my first proper full length script. I'm happy: it doesn't seem to suck entirely.
I entered that competition too = the prize is a consultation I think? Would be interesting to get feedback on my not-entirely-sucky feature.
Hi - it's my first attempt at writing a short. It was an idea that came for the brief so I wrote it.
Weird's good - I like weird!
If someone wants to make a short I write, suits me! ;)
I'm new to screenplay writing, Truth or Dare is only my second script, but I know the film industry pretty well.
T :)
Hi there! no problemo! It's fun ; fun / weird . I can picture it as a music video myself; or at least with a powerful sound track.

Do you write short screenplays to have them made, or as a storytelling form in itself? (Nevada desert might be fun to shoot in ;-) )
Personally, I've got some film making buddies who occasionally make the stuff I write; which is a blast.
