Contact me at aphillips@(my Circalit name).co.uk **********(NB. ordinarily I'm a paragraphs fan). ************I try and apply as systematic a critique as possible

I actually don't believe in saying I 'like' or 'dislike' something, or it's 'good' or 'bad'. I am more inclined to try and find out if it has achieved it's own (genre) goals - and measure it against a set of standards I consider relevant.

The questions I enjoy asking myself are stuff like:
Does the script rely on cultural constructs or does it aim for reality? If it's the former, is there enough detail or too much 'lazy thinking'? (I can be guilty of this myself). *************** Is the story plot drivel... I mean driven (ha ha) or character based? - This is one way of understanding narrative sometimes useful.

I feel that if you are really involved in a text, stars become rather meaningless and so I am more into trying to be objective, that is, I prefer to use argument and words over symbols, smileys and avatars! (Although I welcome them occasionally!) *****************
