Hi Tom,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm really chuffed that you're enjoying it so much. Myself personally, I think that comedy should not be censored in any way. You know, if you start thinking ' I'd better not put this because it may offend such and such ' and so on. If one subject is good enough to laugh about , they all are. I think that's why I wrote it as it is- my sort of an antidote to 'my family' and the like. Anyway, thanks again.
Craig,
I really want to stay with this series, but alas, I have house work to do. I’ll get to the rest later. I must say you had me giggling like a schoolgirl by page two. It is outstanding and you have a real talent. It sails really close to the wind, and I like that. But, it might be ahead of its time, in the eyes of producers. I don’t know? But I do know I can’t get enough of it. It really is good. One thing: I loved the dealer’s name. It says a millions things about the characters. That’s a skill, you’ve painted a whole world with one word. However, Imagine what the Politically Correct might say. They’d be horrified! Might even accuse you of wearing Doc Martin’s, braces and shaving your head?Or am I stereotyping people with short hair and poor dress sense? Me, I think it is true, gritty and funny as hell, and I’d keep it in. It’s just something that you might not have thought about. I ‘ll finish reading the series this week and give you an overall.
Thank you Parisjohn.
I think it's awesome that you're reacting this way, and I'm so pleased that you are finding SC so funny. I know a few (well, a lot) of the jokes are skirting pretty close to 'the line', but I think the best way with comedy (in my eyes at least) is if it's make you laugh, write it down. Self censorship is not what writing is about. Your comments and praise are highly appreciated, thank you again.
Craig
