Short story, 5452 words
Cora and Charlie. Charlie and Rosa. Rosa and Daniel. Daniel and Cora. Not separate entities, but all limbs of one tree, entwined and irreversibly linked, unable to reach their full potential and ideal partnerships, all passengers in the same car. They are restricted, tied to imperfect lovers, tied to each other. And then the car crashes, the blue Mazda veers of a bridge and two are left, to pick up the pieces or perhaps to realise that none are missing after all.
