Reviews have started... first 5 pages, and if you get a moment to answer the questions I'm posing at the end, I'd be much appresh

My name's Matt.

I've spent 7 years learning about script-reading and script writing. This has including seminars by industry professionals stretching from Phillip Pullman to Elliot Grove, reading books by authors like Robert McKee and Syd Field, and spending mind-numbing periods of time writing, rewriting and brainstorming projects and ideas with friends, coworkers and, on the good days, myself.

Professionally I have worked in various capacities on TV shows like ITV's "Lewis" and "Horrible Histories: With Stephen Fry", gaining a fantastic insight into both storytelling and the transferral of script-to-screen. I have also worked with companies like Lion TV and Amber Entertainment, specifically in the fields of script analysis and development. Unfortunately due to confidentiality contracts I can't specifically name projects that I worked on - but you'll be seeing about three of them on the big screen 2012/2013...

Living with Jesus, my first professional commission, was shot in September 2011 - originally a webisode pilot, its recently been rewritten into a full TV spec. Watch this space...

I've also recently shot two shorts, Embryos and Me and My Conscience, and am currently writing a full webisode series (Two Death) that I will be putting together with a variety of other filmmakers I've been lucky enough to meet.

    • Hi Matt, Hope you doing well, I have a new draft of the Green Hill that I would like you to take a look at if you have time at the moment. I have hopefully ironed out many of the issues that we discussed last time. Cheers Neil

    • Hi Matt. Hope you are well. As I understand it, Armor was put on the Circalit Gold list in January and you mentioned that you guys would then look for production companies to pitch it to. Have you had any news regarding this? Also, do you know when you will hear from 2b Films? Cheers Ross

    • Hi Matt, Thanks for taking a look at my opening for me. Your feed back was very helpful, thank you :) I think when I get my next student loan through, I may indeed be persuaded to invest in a full feedback report. If just any Ton, Dick or Harry left what you had written and offered to review the rest, even for £5, I'd have to say know. They may be coming from a place of nothing but good intentions, but If I were to pay, I'd want to know of the quality that I would be getting. I hope this was useful :) Cheers again, Sean. Feedback Offered

What do you get?

One page of feedback on the first 10 pages of your script - this feedback will focus (unless you request otherwise) on the initial impact, tone, and style of the piece, as well as looking at the extent to which your script may make a reader want to continue.

Why is it important?

Producers having an immensely difficult predicament constantly hounding them. They are simultaneously inundated with new material claiming to be 'the next big thing', yet find themselves constantly busy trying to create 'the next best thing'. Therefore the majority of the reading will fall to an intern or assistant, who is often asked to give a 'first impression' after the initial 10 pages. If that first impression is bad, your script's already in the bin. On the rare occasion that a producer actually has time to read something his assistant recommends, he will drop it the second it loses pace. Those 10 pages are vital. They need to be unbelievable, incomparable and, ultimately, sellable. Through this service, I hope to help you reach this point.
