PAPER DREAMS is complete at 204,296 words and would fit into the Thriller genre. A Synopsis Take a recipe for disaster. Add an old love affair in 1952: Leave to settle until 2009, then add crumbling old mansion EPTON HALL - hiding a scandalous secret. Add a snippet or two of gossip following the death of elderly Marjorie Hapsworth-Cole. Gradually add a young Librarian, Katie Nicholson, (a bit of a romantic). Place in the old attic. Add a vast number of books to be catalogued and stir slowly. Add some memorabilia and some more books. Add a weekend journey, a new boyfriend and a few prophetic dreams. Then gradually add sinister HAROLD HAPSWORTH-COLE (only known heir to the estate). Add violence, theft, imprisonment, greed, some mental instability and stir malevolently. Leave to simmer for two days. Add some love and eventual rescue. Then add a new-found heir, whilst carefully mixing together some old letters relating to past infidelities and allow to simmer until truly understood. Add solicitors, the police and a good deal of travel. The resultant mixture should be an explosion of financial expectations, inheritance, greed, attempted murder and Harold’s final demise. Finally, add a honeymoon on a desert island…and the eventual sale of the estate. Enjoy and inwardly digest.
