Hi Raoul, are you ok? I've been trying to get in touch with you too and had no luck. Hope this isn't ominous and that everything is ok and you're just very busy.
Hi Raoul,
If you check the 'Discuss Circalit' forum you'll see that a number of us are concerned about some of the contests where it seems that winners have been selected who have not adhered to the rules, or there are other unresolved issues.
Some of the posts, which no-one from Circalit responds to, have been there for so long that they have disappeared off the page. I hope it's not a case of 'out of sight, out of mind.'
The contests that seem not to abide by their own criteria or have other problems include Hodderscape, Peirene, Amanda Hocking, Immersive Writing Lab and Julie Gray.
This is not even to mention other contests that rely on 'community votes' for their short-list where genuine contestants with integrity get side-lined by flagrant 'buddy-voting' when friends (not part of Circalit) are enlisted to give sets of 5-star scores and 'reviews' that often consist of one or two words.
Surely it is not your wish to have such bad practice on a website where your aim is to encourage participation from aspiring writers and industry professionals alike?
I see from Craigslist (via Twitter) that you are advertising for a website expert to set up a NEW website, for eBooks.
What about fixing THIS website first??!!
We all look forward to receiving your response and for all these issues to be resolved.
The original intention behind Circalit is admirable and has my unstinting support but at the moment there is much about it that needs attention before anymore genuine, dedicated members give up in despair.
Best wishes,
Caroline
Hello Raoul,
I would like to enter the TV pilot competition, and wondered whether more than one entry is allowed per person?
Thanks,
Chris
