A woman is seen walking into the sea on a beach in winter, the only people about are a dog walker and a girl on a pony.
An unknown woman is seen by two locals walking on the beach and then calmly into the sea, fully clothed in warm winter coat. A dog walker, Samantha, lets her dog off the lead and tells him to go to the woman. The girl, whose name is Alix, riding her the pony sees they are too far away and urges the pony into the water. When she reaches the woman she slaps her and she obediently turns back to the beach. Alix and Samantha take her back to the pub that they live in for a hot drink and dry clothing. The woman is un-cooperative and doesn't appear to know her own name. Alix finds an article in the paper with the woman's name and they address her by this name, Nicola. She is still unresponsive. Samantha contacts the paper and soon a carbon copy of Nicola appears in the doorway of the pub.
