After completing a BA in Philosophy and Art History from University College London and working my way through a variety of jobs including bookseller, waitress, gallery assistant and film festival programmer, I turned to filmmaking. I won a number of small production awards and my films have been broadcast and exhibited in festivals and a gallery. I worked as a community arts educator for ten years working, teaching and training in filmmaking in a variety of arts and education contexts. In 2005 I received funding from a regional screen agency to study Scriptwriting on the MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. I currently teach film, writing and media at Anglia Ruskin University. User is my first novel.
