Although an 11th generation Londoner, I had a nomadic childhood, living in Derbyshire, North and South London, the Oxfordshire Chilterns, Burma, Essex and Surrey before settling in Yorkshire aged 10.
My first fiction was published as short stories in Honey magazine when I was 21. Since then, I have worked as a journalist for a wide range of magazines and newspapers – including Marie Claire, She, Options, New Woman, The Guardian, The Scotsman, Mail on Sunday, Evening Standard, Observer Magazine and the International Herald Tribune, among many others.
