The world is full of tall skyscrapers and grey buildings, grey roads, grey everything. The only real life they get is when the sun shines. Now how does the sun shine? If the people are in a collectively bad mood? Just some of the people, then grey clouds come and shroud the grey atmosphere. And that way, they make it more of a grey world. All the streets are wet because of the rain from the clouds. But the rain is made up of tears from people because they are sad. And how do they know this happens? Yes. And they try not to cry but sometimes they want a bit of colour and a bit of happiness. How do they move? They have roller balls on the bottom of their shoes. They do not walk - they skit along. Everyone is in a hurry and they don't look at where they are going and who they need to think about. It smells damp because of the rain of salt tears. Things feel sad too. And it is very subdued. Nobody smiles or laughs. So when you see characters you hear them too because they giggle and chuckle. Each person is a series number which comprises numbers and letters. Only when people see the light do they appropriate their real names again. The characters have names like Brother Archicott and Sister Annunueley.
